I may have alarmed some paddlewisers with my "wild guess" high estimates
of the forces that might act on a personal tether.  Just in case anyone
is under the impression that I know what I am talking about I'd like to
state formally that I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!  My
discussion of the forces that might come to bear on a tether system was
hypothetical and is not based on empirical information.  Soothingly,
