OK world travelers, any words of wisdom for those of us who usually
drive home from the take-out?

What's the best way to deal with wet wetsuits and other gear for the
day(s) travel home on the plane? I saw a Patagucci wet/dry bag that
looked like a good solution (but of course it is waaay more $ than my
wife will let me spend). Or should I just wrap it up in a plastic trash
bag and hope the Sink the Stink can take care of it later?

Frank

How about a trash compactor bag? Not pretty, but pretty cheap :-)
We've even used them as dry bags.

Cheers,

--That's what I recommend to scout troops, etc. The compactor bags hold
up to a lot more abuse. You do need to be more careful about sealing them
up because of their greater stiffness.
For nearby trips I usually put my wet stuff into a mesh bag clipped
under my boat on top of the car.

Sink the Stink is ideal for taking wet gear on airlines. In fact, I
developed it for divers traveling to the tropics, where gear NEVER dries. We
had a diver call once and tell us that she had treated her gear in her hotel
tub and packed it wet in a Samsonite hard shell before she left Cozumel. Her
suit case got lost for 30 days and when it arrived there was no odor or
mildew and she said the Polartec looked like it had been ironed.
