With backup offers of help with transportation and paddling from ELaine Harmon (who will probably be in Scotland by then), Pat Moss, and Marinell Davis, I have invited her to stay with me. She is trying to plan her trip for around December 28 and then go to Belize for a week or so and then back to Miami. For those who don't recall, Karen (Darke) indicated that she is paraplegic. She has traveled to the Himalayas and Bolivia (and who knows where else). Apart from my profound feeling that "there but for the grace of God..." I reckon that if she has the "guts" to go out and do these things on her own, despite the challenges, it will be a privilege to have her. I am now in New York visiting my son and had a nice long chat with Ralph (Diaz), we are meeting tomorrow afternoon for a short paddle and then watching a kayak-board wedding.
