I'll be hitting the big 5-0 next year. However, I've run into lots of serious paddlers in their 60's and 70's, and relatively few seakayakers under 40. My sister is 55 (hopefully you don't mind me mentioning that, sis) and goes on month-long expeditions on the west coast of Vancouver island, so I feel like I've got some good years left, despite the complaining joints. The worst part for me, by far, is carrying boats loaded with a week or more of gear up or down long or slippery beaches.
