[Paddlewise] radar blips

The following is a summary of an actual marine radio transmision in alaska
several years ago.





Operator one: Attention vessel traveling south in Lynn canal. We have detected
you on our radar. We are on a collision course please turn your vessel 45
degrees to the east!


Operator two: Attention vessel traveling north in Lynn Canal. We have you on
our radar and confirm that we are on a collision course, but we suggest you
turn 45 degrees to the east.


Operator one: This is seaman ..........of the U.S.............with
Admiral............aboard we suggest you turn east because this is a battle
ship!


Operator two: and we suggest you turn east because this is a lighthouse.
