I"m 46 and what I have discovered about age is that I can still do all the
things I used to do but it takes me longer to recover.

I have also discovered that as i grow older, it is more important for me to
warm up before starting a long paddle otherwise the joints begin to ache. My
technique is usually to over dress at first so I build up body heat quickly
then once warmed up to open up the paddleing jacket , strip or whatever.

I also discover my back problems came not from paddling my boat but from
loading it on top of my pick-up truck. So I designed a cradle that extends out
of the truck bed to save me the lift.

Yo, David in Juneau, we got snow on the mountains too and it is supposed to
blow 50-60 tomorrow...wanna go paddling?

I have a friend who is looking for just such a design for
her truck. Would you mind describing the design, please,
Bob? Does it mean that your kayak extends much beyond the
truck bed?

Thanks,
John

Okay, okay, already. I promise to stop complaining about the torrential
rain. At least it's warm!
