Yup. I work for an outdoor retailer which sells kayaking equipment, among 
other things. Last year an individual asked to be handed a flare from behind 
the counter, so he could examine the instructions. He dutifully followed the 
"unscrew cap, pull chain" directions, and launched a fireball skipping down 
the department. Fortunatly no people or merchandise was damaged, but the 
scorch marks are still visible in the carpet.
