If you are experiencing numbness in your legs you should definitely check for pressure points around your hips and thighs. The link between the pressure point and the location of the numbness is often not direct or clear, but look for even slight pressure points around the bottom/side of the hips and the bottom of the thighs. My usual workout boat is an old downriver racing kayak that just has a slightly carved out foam block for a seat and no side restrictions whatsoever, but for weeks my legs would go numb within 10-15 minutes. I just kept messing around with it until it stopped attacking me. I definitely feel that you should/must be able to adjust your boat outfitting so that it does not cause this kind of discomfort. Discomfort from just sitting too long is another matter. Maybe if I lost 30 pounds or so it would be better, but I don't think anything is going to help too much on a 50 hour crossing.
