Can any PaddleWisers tell me about Folbot's Kodiak? It looks like a good
buy, but is 'beamier' than any boat I've paddled -- I'm wondering how it
handles.

Especially if you wait wil November 15 (?) and order during their one-day
"book the factory" sale. A Folbot tradition, they have a one-day sale to
line up lots of orders so they won't have to lay off their employees in
the winter months.

I emagine Mr. Diaz will give you the official report on the kodiak, so I
won't even try. I will only say I own one and from the moment I first
dipped a paddle to the last moment in the boat, I like it. I find it more
stable than most describe it. Goes where I point it and seems to be
little affected by wind/waves.

It will be on sell for one day only in Nov. for $1295 I believe. Shipping
prepaid.

I own 2 other folbots, so am slightly biased perhaps. :-)
Darn good people there and a exellant company to do buisness with!!!!!

I reviewed the Kodiak awhile ago in my newsletter. I don't want to
clutter Paddlewise with the full review but would be happy to send it as
email to anyone requesting it.

Basically, the Kodiak is the tightest best put together boat Folbot has
made. It works quite well. Has the basic dimensions of the Klepper
Aerius I but tracks extremely well whereas the Klepper doesn't.

The boat puts together fast as do all Folbots. The bags are quite heavy
and awkward for carrying and are really only good to get your folded up
boat to your car...i.e. you would not want to lug it in its bags very
far.

Again, if you want the review, back channel email to me and I will
respond ASAP. Gratis of course, and no strings attached.
