I spent 3 years as TAC Party 1-4 Radio in USMC ...otherwise known as "Super Grunt". Actually, ALL our field radio ops were called that. Seems like a thousand years ago that I took that ill-planned, ill-conceived year-long extended hiking - camping vacation to "sunny Southeast Asia" with Lima Co. Did LOTS and LOTS of hiking and camping in some really miserable weather. Also, the locals were VERY inhospitable ! By the way ...the ONLY reason the Marines are a part of the Navy is that not ALL Marines can walk on water just yet !!
