Built a flat-bottom sailboat with leeboards as an adolescent, from plans in a woodworking magazine; used a roll of polyethyline plastic for sails. Who knows where it is now, but it was a good lake boat. 2. Klepper Quattro - our double, and spouse's single. Wonderful kayak. 3. Feathercraft Khatsalano-S - also a very good kayak, but sold it to get... 4. Klepper 2000 - will have a sail rig for next season. My favorite solo boat. BOAT NAME AND CALL SIGN (IF RADIO OPERATOR): n/a SPECIAL INTERESTS: seakayaking, astronomy, photography, music, computers, recumbent bicycling (just got one for an early xmas gift :), sailing (learning; would like to one day blue water race), woodworking, dogsledding/carting (just learning), vulcanology, seismology, meteorology, oceanography, studying anything interesting. SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE: medicine, astronomy and a font of useless trivia STRONG OPINIONS: If you have a dream, only you can make it happen...and yes, it will be hard work with occasional life setbacks. Other than that, I try to see both sides of every issue, not always successfully. MOST INTERESTING KAYAK TRIP: Bar Harbor, as much for the company as the scenery. BIO: Married to a terrific person; have one aging dog and one middleage dog, have lived in most parts of the country including Hawaii (but not Alaska). Currently I travel a lot with work. Someday we hope to seakayak and sail in Scotland, Alaska, Scandinavia, Greece, and recumbent bike in Holland and Britain.
