Thanks for all the replys! Many direct also, and several options.

I did notice that several of you need to take a break and test out those 
scanners tho!!! :-)

Right now I'm not needing anything with serious res. This really all 
started out simply enough. I wanted to share a picture or two with a 
couple of hiking/paddling buddies from time to time, as they do me. I 
also told Jackie that I would send her a pic or two. Little did I know 
what a fun trip this was to lead me on. In this neck of the woods(E. NM), 
no one knows what a 35mm slide is, or seems that way. Getting one scanned 
is out of the question anyway.
Soooo, all I need and want, is a scanner that will allow me to scan my 
own slide from time to time, so that I can send them to a friend or two 
and say, "and there I was".:-)
