With lo-volume kayak used in temperate areas, I look for the very lightest. A
couple favorites: Rock Wren down bag from Feathered Friends -- compresses to
size of football, has zippered arm holes so you can sleep with arms out on
warm evenings, and draw-tite foot. This is a 30-degree bag and actually is
warm down to 30-degrees. You can specify options when ordering -- I chose
Gore-tex outside, nylon inside and a couple extra ounces of down.

Also discovered Coleman one-hoop tent from Sport-mart, cheap, compresses to
just a little bigger than a bivvy tent, yet allows you to sit up and get
dressed in rainy weather. Can't comment on long-term durability, but tent
stood through storm and high wind on one occassion and was dry and
satisfactory in every other way. Have used exclusively for one season.
