This is going to be hard for me, but here goes... My name is Mike McNally,
and I'm a cotton user. That having been said, my real input regards,
layered sleeping systems. I replaced an old bag with a new down marmot
arroyo, and here's my layering paradigm:
    marmot arroyo very lt bag
wool surplus bagliner cheap & works good as hot weather bag
designsalt flannel liner boy is this comfortable
designsalt silk liner best insulation to wt ratio

So the idea is to be able to pick a combination of layers to fit the trip.
I want to get a more rectangular bag to go on the exterior and allow full
lofting of the arroyo, and I want to replace the wool bagliner with a
bagliner of polartec 200 or 300. The polartec would probably be just as
bulky as the wool, but would wt considerably less. So far I have only found
mummy shaped bagliners in a very lite fleece, the one that design silk
offers is rated to provide ~2deg less insulation than the flannel liner.
Did I mention that the cotton flannel liner was extremely comfortable?
