Debbie, the Leonid Meteor Shower is on the nights of Wednesday/Thursday, November 17/18. A friend of mine forwards weekly excerpts from Sky and Telescope to me and apparently this is possibly a meteor STORM this year - best observed with the unaided-eye from a dark site away from city lights. What is the real poop? Does anyone know? Debbie Reeves Sandy Hook, NJ >> The Leonids are expected to peak around 9:00 p.m. EST on November 17, give or take several hours. As always, the best viewing is after midnight, though that time does not coincide with the predicted peak. However, the Leonids are notoriously difficult to predict.
