G'Day, I have two young adult friends both of whom suffer from cerebral palsy. They don't get out much and are interested in trying out kayaking - not as a hobby but just to experience it. Neither can swim. I am assessing if it is reasonable to take them out one at a time in a double kayak in sheltered water on a calm day for a short (15 - 30 minute) trip. Everyone would be wearing PFD's and I would have a skilled partner in a separate kayak to help. Does anyone have any experience of taking mildly disabled passengers? If so I would be grateful to know of any problems, solutions etc. All the best, PeterO *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
