To follow up on the note by Rich Dempsey:  The book, Kabloona, written by a
Frenchman at the turn of the century re. time spent with the Inuit when they
were still a stone age people.  Little to do with kayaking as I recall but
then I read it some time ago.  Still it affected me deeply to imagine these
people and their ways - an awesome read.
