G'Day, The Paddlewise public web site "Who's Who" and "Who We Are" lists are 90% complete including revisions. Thanks for all the many interesting entries. "Who's Who - Missing Persons" I hope everyone had a chance to revise and change their minds. My apologies if this seems excessively bureaucratic but it turned out most were glad of the chance to edit their entries! 139 of you have confirmed permission for your entries. 36 have submitted entries but haven't confirmed permission - I don't want to disappoint people who went to the trouble of sending an entry so there's a check list below. If your name's not on the list and you sent an entry and still want to be posted, just email me something like "OK to post my entry on the Paddlewise Web Site". "Who We Are List - Wind?" I may never be forgiven but I'm removing all references to the phrase "Old Farts" - not because I'm against "Old Farts" but with only some of the entries available the phrase became easily misinterpreted as insulting when it wasn't intended to be. It was curious to see how readily that could happen! Hope thats OK. :~) The final version go's to Jackie by Wednesday next week - I'm off to Rock and Roll this weekend:~). There will be another chance to update or include in about 3 months. All the best, PeterO. p.s >From my very inexperienced view it seems that perhaps the most skilled kayaker on paddlewise (amongst an imprrressive array of skilled kayakers) is (Professor?)Inverbon - I think he has an academic background. If anyone knows his email address I would dearly like to include his entry! ____________________________________________________________________ NAMES IN THE "WHO'S WHO" LIST - NOVEMBER 1999 ____________________________________________________________________ Allan Singleton;Allison Corning;Andy Johnson;Andy Knapp;Anne Burton; Arthur Hebert;Ari Saarto;Becky Brubaker;Bill Hansen;Bill Leonhardt;Bill McKenzie;Bill Tynan;Bob Carter;Bob Smith;Bob Volin and Joan Volin;Brad Laesch;Bruce McCutcheon;Catherine Veraghen;Catherine Fox;Christopher R. If anyone > knows his email address I would dearly like to include his entry! > Despite Professor Inverbon's many accomplishments he is a very humble, reticent man who shuns publicity. No doubt he still smarts from the unfair treatment by the press during the Cape Dorset pederasty case in which he was most unfairly accused. The Professor has never backed away from studying sensitive anthropological issues and always calls a spade a dirty old shovel. This has not endeared him to the anthropological establishment that has always sought to bath indigenous natives (and themselves) in the golden light of ethnic purity. How do they explain the blonde Inuit discovered by Stephanson? One can accept a evolutionary glitch or two but where did they get the Rosaries? I recall well when the Professor turned the tables on Arctic anthropologists and published his study of the shy and little known Nude Anthropologists of Pond Inlet. he first found them in one of the many pingo burial sites wearing nothing but birthday suits and Margaret Meade Masks where they had sought refuge from the common Arctic Anthropologists who persecuted them unmercifully by denying their existence even though many Common Anthropologists have been caught even less well clad in the presence of Inuit women. Where the Inuit men were at the time has not yet been revealed. The Common Anthropologists claimed to have been victims of caribou paunch drugged with ground Narwhal tusks that have a similar effect to Viagra. Such claims should fall on deaf ears despite the promotions of unscrupulous Chinese physicians who have long held that smearing the mixture of ground Narwhal tusks and Muktuk on the genitals will make an person a randy as a British Cabinet Minister. Sadly, the Nude Anthropologists have disappeared from the North. The Professor's revelations (though denied by all concerned) led to them going further underground. Today they conduct their secret rituals virtually under cover of internet porn sites. Needless to say, it just isn't the same. One can see how the Professor would be much vilified by the establishment and reluctant to draw attention to himself. Groucho Marx once said that he "...would never want to belong to an organization that would have him as a member." I too subscribe to this policy and would not want to lower the generally high tone of Paddlewise by listing myself as a member.
