I wasn't addressing steve's email specifically, just a general comment. the perils of imprecise emails strike again!! nick BTW I'm not a no-rudder keen bean. My current boat is a plastic skerray. I prefer the simplicity of no rudder, but for some paddling think they are worthwhile (I know, I know, I know, I know why this is not the view of some). I plan to buy a bigger, fibreglass, straight line trip boat with a rudder next year. I want to do some long touring trips with open crossings in the next few years, this is something I've not had a chance to do so far due to some chronic injury (now receding) and a PhD thesis. I'll keep the robust and manouverable skerray for day trips, surf, gauntlets etc. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
