the whistle discussion was well timed as I needed a new one. I had the embarrassing situation a while back when organiser/leader on an overnight club paddle. we all got on the water and I blew my whistle to gather the roving troops for a start - nothing. My whistle was dead for some reason. It was one of those standard rectangular plastic, pealess whistles from a marine shop I think. It was at least seven years old. Did I look good. Much mirth was had at my expense. The fearless, well-organised leader. Had to borrow one for the weekend from someone else. In the absence of readily procuarable storm here, I've ordered a fox40 from a mail order sea kayak firm here after it got good reviews on paddlewise. The NSW club is making moves to purchase a box of storms (which it has done b4 - i in my then whistle owning state didn't buy one), so i might get one of them as well later. thanks for info whoever it was. nick *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
