I have experienced this "oil canning" (the inward flexing of the hull while 
going over waves) to a small degree in the plastic kayaks I have paddled.  
However, I have also experienced it in a fiberglass Current Designs Equinox 
that I used to own and a fiberglass Northwest Seascape (double) that I still 
own.  It really isn't a big deal, unless you want to split hairs.
