I have been planning to paddle on Dec 22 for a whole year but my hot water tank blew the other day, so I got a day off work but had to work the 22nd in lieu, so could not get out paddling today. It fogged in heavily tonight due to an inversion layer, so I went out for a drink with the boys rather than paddle after work, proceeding to whine about missing being on the water for the Big One. It would seem my biggest water turned out to be in my flooded laundry basement followed by me drowning in my sorrows tonight. Boo Hoo! Race Passage is running at 7.1 knots. Damn, would have been a gas. Fulford Harbor near Victoria is showing a foot and a half drop per hour. Not bad. Got these figures from my friend today, as my tide/current tables were destroyed my the "flood tide" in my laundry room (wife did tell me not to leave my gear on the floor!). Not sure what Deception Pass was running at. Did anyone get out in some strong rips? Kevin Whilden, did you? Somebody, anybody get out? Please, I need to get some adrenaline vicariously!!! BC'in Ya Doug Lloyd (who's joy has ebbed away) *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Dec 22 1999 - 22:32:41 PST
