Several years ago my wife and I sat on Rabbit Key with our open canoe (a
rented and dented gruman) watching the whitecaps dance between us and Pavilion
Key (about 4 miles) We made two decisions

1. stay put for the day

2. Next time we returned we were in a double kayak (Eddyline San Juan)

The Glades can get choppy and although we can not carry as much in a kayak as
in a canoe, we prefer a double kayak for the Glades. Less windage and safer in
choppy seas.
