> Hell of a story, Dave. Appreciate the candor. Just curious what the water temp > was when you went in. I can't access the site I check for local water temp. right now, but it usually runs around 50 deg. From what I've heard over the years in this area (Monterey Bay) an unprotected person in the water is usually unconscious (and soon after deceased from drowning) in about 30 minutes. I don't really know how long I was in the water, probably not more than 15 minutes but it felt like forever and I know I was feeling pretty weak, and I'm a lot stronger than the average too. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dave Flory, San Jose, CA. daflory_at_pacbell.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speak softly and study Aikido, then you won't need a big stick. ©1999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
