Here's something for those of you in cold climes - photos of our =
campsite on north Padre Island over the Thanksgiving weekend.

We started off a bit coolish on Thanksgiving day, but clouds on the =
horizon dissipated as time rolled on. May have been as cool as 45 =
overnight, but up to mid-70s by the time we took out.

Gulf Coast Texas - not a bad place to be in "winter".

But what is more relaxing after a day skiing than a couple of hours
spent
alternating between a hot sauna and a cold snow bank? Showers pale by
comparison.

Cheers,

...or jumping into the lake through a hole in the ice between saunas? (I
never had a problem with cold shock!) Snow can sometimes feel like
sandpaper.

You cannot send images to this list. You can announce you have
photos and will send them to anyone interested or, better yet,
provide a URL where folks here can view the photos on the web. If
you don't have a website, I'll be happy to temporarily post the
photos for you on the PaddleWise website and let folks know where
to find them.

Cheers,

Jackie

....I suppose my loath of cold weather goes back to military days when in
typical fashion I was sent to 6 weeks of cold weather training in Fallon,
NV. Temps never above -15 F and 6 foot deep runways in the ice and snow
to walk around in. God forsaken wind down your collar "26" hours a day
when out of that 'rat maze'. All that good cold weather training came to
naught when about 45 days later I was exported toward DaNang for an
extended hiking-camping trip in the bush of a not-so-friendly little
country in southeast Asia. Go figure.
I'll stick to these 3 week Louisiana winters thank ya very much.
B-r-r-r-r-r ...somebody reach in there and hand me another cold beer,
will ya ?
