Offline i got a message that includes this idea: As Mr. Pascoe indicates in his article, many of the problems occur when a "thick" core is subjected to curves and recurves. This has the effect of stretching the outer layer and compressing the inner. This is not nearly the same level of stressor in kayak construction which utilizes a much "thinner" lay-up ==================== i think that may have been the point that i was overlooking in understanding how the article might apply to kayaks & canoes. thanks for the responses and if someone else has a comment, please post it. bye bye bliven *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Mon Jan 03 2000 - 15:06:47 PST
