While sea lice can truly be a menace 8-} salt water by itself does tend to irritate some folks' skin and can depend on the concentration of salt in the water. Also, in some areas, there are concentrations of chemicals in the water from dumping that can cause skin irritation (as well as eye and ear irritations). An area along the coast here in southern Californai was declared unsafe because of the concentration of a bacteria. Seems a large number of migrating gulls that were hanging out on the beach were the culprits that time. peeeeuuuuuu Cheers, Jackie *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Tue Jan 04 2000 - 11:55:54 PST
