From a distance, the rear-facing part of the light would probably appear white or yellow, but I think that's all right. Linda and I received our (green Extreme) Krill lamps last Saturday, and are very pleased with them as marker lights. We lowered one into the stock tank in the basement where we winter our Shubunkin pond fish to see how well it illuminated them in the dark -- not very well, but the fish seemed mildly curious. A white Photon Micro-Lite is easier to read by, however.
