In the big boat/small cars department . . . I used to drive around in a Honda Civic CRX with our 17' Old Town Tripper on top; no problem. The canoe kind of stuck out front and back. Both vessels were brand new in 1985. The funny thing was that the Tripper was rated to carry 950 pounds, but the CRX was only rated to carry 500 pounds. No chance of overloading that canoe! We did some pretty hairy dirt roads in that combo, too. The CRX bit the dust years ago, but the Tripper is still going strong. --Karl Coplan *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************Received on Wed Jan 26 2000 - 14:03:09 PST
