I have seen electric pumps being knocked around on this list for a while and I
wonder, will I be looking for one in the future?
I have the opportunity to buy a factory serviced submersible pump (works
fantastic) for 10 bucks. It moves 1100+gph under 12volts and comes with some
hoses. It looks REALLY small, and should fit in a dayhatch well with a larger
powersource. I remember most of the stuff on battery storage, watertight
switches etc.
I have not decided on plans for a boat yet, but it would be no problem (I
think) to make another bulkhead (perhaps removeable?) and sandwich this little
baby in the middle with 1 hose running from the cockpit area and the other
spraying in a really neat fountain off the side or in the air. (Imagining a
gunboat) Or, I could just go the usual lame route of having it flow out a side
port (boring).
I guess I just want to know if I will want this in the future. Is it a
natural tendency for Paddlewisers who build a lot of crap themselves to
gravitate to having an electric pump on board?
Should I jump on it, risking a scolding from the wife for not spending
more on Valentines day?

        Trying to think ahead,
        Phil Huck
