[Paddlewise] Mounting a compass???

   A friend has asked me about mounting a compass to his boats deck by simply 
gluing the base in place with epoxy. For some reason he has an aversion to 
drilling holes in his deck. He doesn't really do any hair boating which might 
stress the deck, so I don't see any reason why he can't just glue the base in 
place. Am I wrong?
