LaPush Wa this weekend had 18 foot swell and 30 knot winds. I stayed on shore and video taped the few who venture out into what was estimated at 20 foot breakers. I followed one kayaker with a broken paddle as he slowly worked his way back toward the shore break? A couple of times he stopped and waved his right arm trying to get our attention on shore. He dogged one shore break and then wet exited on the back of the next wave into waist deep water. He had braced into greenwater with his arm extended as he dropped down the face of a steep wave and dislocated his lift shoulder at the same time the blade was snapped off. He had relocated (adjusted)? his shoulder before paddling in with one blade! *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
