Hi.
Just thought I would share an experience that happened to me 3 -4 years ago.
I was surfing at the local spot dressed in a dry suit with a farmer john
underneath. I had
helmet, neoprene hood and booties. After I was ripped out of my boat I
thought what
a good opportunity to pratice swimming into to shore.... after 10 minutes of
trying different
versions of swimming I thought enough and attempted to do a wet entry and
roll... the problem
was my hands. I could not grasp the paddle or boat to complete the wet
entry and roll. Now I was
forced to swim to shore.... I had no other option.

The lesson..... don't assume the drysuit makes you superhuman in cold
conditions. You last
longer but you still are vulnerable to the perils of cold water.

have fun....
