Story 1

A survivalist group in Orangeville, Ontario was awakened new year's day by
its alarm system. Manning their stations armed and ready to fend off
hungry people attempting to steal their food rations from their underground
bunker, they saw three small children at their door with a basket of food.

The children said their parents had told them that the group was concerned
about having enough food and the children wanted to help them out.

 Story 2

A radical fundamentalist group in Quebec, believing the world was coming to
an end, attempted mass suicide at midnight. They awoke the next morning in
good health. A computer glitch at the manufacturer of the lethal drug had
caused a mislabeling. What the group ingested was a mild sedative. The
leader of the group said it was one of the best night's sleep he had had in
many years.

Story 3

The patrons of a small bank in Northern Ontario were surprised to find a ten
dollar error in their favor in their bank accounts on New Year's Day. When
asked if it was caused by a Y2K computer glitch the manager of the bank
replied that he just wanted to give his customers a little gift to start off
the new year.
