The recent tether article that I wrote in the latest Sea Kayaker Magazine issue had a reference to an incident that was first reported on Paddlewise. I just wanted to let the list know that I did contact Paul Hollerbach (think I got the spelling right) regarding his incident on the Hudson River with entanglement. He gave me full permission, and I believe he sent the full story to SK, though I don't know what Paul and the editor communicated about once I split the scene. Just wanted to let you know I'm on the up-and-up, up-front, and all that rot. BTW, I got major bucks for that article. Come on guys, there's money in them thar hills. Got an area of interest, a story to tell, go fer it, send something in. NB I don't work for those SK dudes, no financial connection - I just sell my soul to them occasionally for some greenbacks (kayak-related revenue keeps my wife off my case vis a vis the family budget, therefore essential to life-and-limb - mine that is!). >Doug wrote: >BTW, I got major bucks for that article. Major bucks huh? Must be you got paid by the page. :) Just kidding - I read it the other night and it was excellent. And how about the next story about that guy who eats nothing but weeds. Somebody get him a steak! *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************

I had a similar reaction. How could he maintain himself for several days on that regime? Did not sound like "paddling calories" to me. My son is a vegetarian, but nails down way more calories than I do -- those weeds would have never satisfied him. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: paddlewise_at_lists.intelenet.net Subscriptions: paddlewise-request_at_lists.intelenet.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
