This is not a great solution, but it might be an improvement: why not put a
pump port on the spray skirt? This would be a tube of material, big enough
to accept the pump, with a roll-down closure on top like a dry bag. It
would be located in the middle of the skirt, about 6-8 inches forward of the
body tube.

At least, with this rig, the pump could be used without the spray skirt
being removed. Concerns about having hands off the paddle still remain.

Any comments?

It would be easy to build into a nylon skirt, I don't know how hard it would
be to put on a neoprene one.

Rob.

Rob, this certainly sounds like a great improvement to me. I've been told
you can stick the pump down the tunnel, but I've never been able to pump the
water below the top of the seat bottom that way. Difficult position to pump
from and quite a bit of water still left in.

If the pump port is near the front of the coaming that should allow the pump
to reach all the way to the hull. You may need a slightly longer pump.

Woody

You can get them in Germany for years. Look at:
http://www.zoelzer.de/spritzdecke.htm
its the second spray skirt (the red one).
