Some of you may have already seen this little item, others may wish to parallel my efforts to obtain some and try them out. I saw this item a couple of days ago in Multihulls Magazine. I immediately thought it was the exact thing I had been looking for as a tensioning device for the perimeter lifelines, gear lines, and bungies on my kayak. Obviously excellent for lines for tarps, tents, etc. The item is called the Camcleat Line-lok. It is about an inch in size and made of nylon, no moving parts. It works on a bight of line. To tension the line you move the cleat up the standing part of the line drawing line thru' whatever fixture it is passed thru' and tensioning the line. To release and loosen you just pull the two parts of the bight away from each other. After a day or two of internet research and an unsuccessful trip to my local West Marine, I found that it is distributed in the US by Sea Dog, their part no. is CL002600. West Marine has it but it hadn't been distributed to my store yet. West Marine part no. is 1158062. As I recall the lady who found it for my in their database said it comes in packs or two for about $5.
