[Paddlewise] Solar Stills/Reverse Osmosis

Someone asked about ways to produce potable water from salt water.  

A Google search on "solar still" showed over 300 hits.  Here are a couple
commercial units, of many available, I suspect:

Using "reverse osmosis", I got 11,200 Google hits -- undoubtedly a ton of
commercial units, with one of the cheaper varieties at:

One of Kent Marine's units, with an add-on hand pump, may meet the needs of the
Dempseys, although one wonders how it is possible to beat the PUR units. 
Pumping by hand is going to be demanding whatever the system.
