G'Day, Thankyou Sandy and Paddlewise!! I never expected to find myself paddling the Florida Keys let alone to be doing this in the company of Sandy - The most gracious hostess one could wish for! Sandy picked me up from the hotel in Miami on Saturday and whisked me down to Key Long where we proceeded on a leisurely paddle to clean up an Island and engage in a picnic with the Paradise Paddlers Florida Keys Kayak Club. A great bunch of people whose company I thoroughly recommend. Only one regret - we must have picked up and disposed of a kilometre of rope when cleaning the island - what do I see at the local tourist store - Packets of old rope for sale as souveniers! We stayed overnight with Bill and the following day it was up at 6:30 and off to see the sunrise on Lake Surprise and the site where Key Largo was filmed and much more. I'm writing this from Sandy's House while preparing to return to Australia - a detailed trip report will follow soon. Anyway thanks again, Sandy and Paddlewise!
