you think works best?<<

It has been my experience that swimming forward on your stomach is easier
with a feathered paddle, while swimming head first on your back is easier
with an unfeathered paddle. While either way seems to move you along,
swimming with a paddle in this fashion seems to require more energy over the
long run then I really care to exert. More times then not I will simply swim
in with a side stroke while dragging the paddle along with the rear hand. You
could also throw your paddle ahead of you and swim to it, but I hate to be
seperated from my paddle almost as much as I hate to be out of my boat :-)
