JPEGs do not scale well; it would have to be a large image to print well on, say, a T-shirt or even a large button. I favor creating the image in a vector drawing program, and then making it available in several formats (unfortunately, there is no standard vector format). The ideas I have seen here pretty much parallel what I came up with after mulling it over Tuesday. I would have an owl clutching a paddle in its talons. The owl would be feathered; the paddle would be unfeathered (to show its shape better). To show it is a wise owl, it would be wearing a PFD. I would put a yellow disk outlined in black behind the owl (not surrounding it), but the disk could be optional; for instance, it could be eliminated if the logo is placed on a yellow button or kayak. Also, I favor keeping the image as simple as possible without going to a silhouette. I won't be able to draw my version till next month at the earliest. I think the final version might look best if drawn by a professional artist. We have at least one on this list who might volunteer, but he is in Italy this week, and doubtless has missed this entire discussion. If they work as advertised the logo could be put on the website as a jpeg and anyone could copy and print it and resize to fit whatever garment it was ironed onto.
