You have to be careful about this. I remember reading there are still old statutes in about half a dozen states making this a misdemeanor. Surprisingly, the ACLU has done little to challenge their obvious unconstitutionality, claiming it is a "back burner" issue. The safest thing may be to rent two separate rooms.
