>Please tell me a little about the PAL light. >Thanks The lamp is housed in a black, shock-absorbing, rubber case 2 3/4x 1 1/2 x 1 (inches) in size. With the 9 volt battery installed, it weighs 3 ounces. It is operated by a single, momentary, push-button switch. It can not be focused. The beam is concentrated. I paid twenty dollars for mine, with battery. The lamp, which always glows (easy to find) has three modes of operation: !, normal mode; Plenty of light to find your way around the house or along the trail. Although there is more than enough illumination to read by, prolonged reading might be tiring because of the small area of light (three or four inch circle). Sufficient energy in this mode for two hundred hours of use. 2. Intense mode. Very bright. Do not shine it into one's eyes. 3. Strobe mode. Flashes once every 1 1/2 second. Very bright. Without use, the lamp will glow for more than two years.
