Hello again,
Thanks for all the great advice regarding race training. - Please keep
the info coming. Being a gadget guy, I am inspecting the yak speedometers
and heart rate monitors as tools for improvement.
From the information I have gathered I will be focusing on
#1. A clean powerful stroke - with little wasted effort. I must try not
    overpower it.
#2. Cardio, cardio, cardio. The guys I am training with have me focusing
on Heart/Lung capacity.
#3. Low weight, high rep lifting. I want continuous power for the long
haul. The weighted jugs included. I think that if I can develop a really
clean, powerful stroke with weight, I should fly when it is removed.
I have been clean of soda, alcohol and junk food ('cept turkey hotdogs
and chocolate) since last January - hoping to build up solid reserves of
quality fuel within. This diet thing was my choice and I like it.

If anyone else is training for a similar goal - or just wants to talk
about turkey hotdogs, I would like to start a dialogue off-list - for
mutual support and improvement.

Thanks again for the top-notch advice,

Phil Huck
