[Paddlewise] condoms as covers

At work we use condoms to cover probes placed within the body for
ultrasounds scans. CIVCO makes non-latex covers for those who may have latex
allergies.Pricey, but actually well-made.  See:

As an aside, on extended canoe trips in northernmost Canada, I bring a rifle
when in Grizzly country. A re-assuring but thoroughly useless 9 lbs. I use
long party balloons to cover the muzzle and keep dirt /water out of the
barrel. I suppose condoms would work just as well, but the Freudian
connotations are more than I can bear, so I stick to balloons!!
