For those who wish to see the Grey Owl Paddles logo that Andy Knapp is referring to, here is the URL. http://www.westerncanoekayak.com/paddles/greyowl/ The paddle for PaddleWise would be a kayak paddle. Maybe sprucing up the owl to have him/her wear a PFD might work. I don't know about trademark violations. ralph diaz -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph Diaz . . . A Horned Owl, taller and thinner with big ear tufts, on a kayak paddle is what I had pictured. Anyone who could get a pfd on an owl has my respect and probably lots of beak marks. 8^) 73 Gary At 03:36 PM 2/9/00 -0800, ralph diaz wrote: >For those who wish to see the Grey Owl Paddles logo that Andy Knapp is >referring to, here is the URL. > >http://www.westerncanoekayak.com/paddles/greyowl/ > >The paddle for PaddleWise would be a kayak paddle. To avoid possible trademark violation, how about making the PW owl a Grt. Horned Owl (very regal, "wise" look to it - not cartoonish). Perch it on a Greenland Paddle - it will look a _lot_ more natural (and before I get flamed for this portion, let me remind you all that I paddle blades feathered). Then, so strangers to PW will know what the patch is, spell out PADDLEWISE in small print across the top of the logo. In my opinion, this would make it simple, sharp, and defining of PW. It could be easily done as a simple two tone (for sm. patches, tee shirt "pocket" logos, etc.)or could be spruced up accordingly. Given multiple colors: 1) print PADDLEWISE is a different color, add extra color to the owl/paddle 2) add backgrounds such as a vertically arrayed row of kayaks/paddles (to include both british heavies and vacuum bagged ltwts., feathered straights & bent shafts, wings, & toothpicks - including storms) Thoughts, Jackie (and gang)? ralph diaz wrote: > > For those who wish to see the Grey Owl Paddles logo that Andy Knapp is > referring to, here is the URL. > > http://www.westerncanoekayak.com/paddles/greyowl/ > > The paddle for PaddleWise would be a kayak paddle.
