East Coast Canoe and Kayak Festival

The dates for the tenth annual East Coast Canoe and Kayak Festival are set
for April 14-16. This is a wonderful opportunity to try numerous kayaks and
canoes or take a lesson from a paddling legend. Four classrooms operate
simultaneously offering topics like safety, repairs, navigation, history,
cooking and many others. On water classes are taught on site.
Most major manufacturers will have representation. Many deals on last years
merchandise. For all the Northern folks this may become your traditional
icebreaker.
James Island County Park is the location. This is a great facility. On
site camping is available. The park has a great climbing wall (this doesn't
have much to do with paddling but it's still great fun).
For more information or to register (advised, there is a discount for early
registration) visit the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission
website at http://www.ccprc.com or call (843) 795-4386.

Anyone know when the web site will be active, as it is currently inactive
and the "future" home of ccprc?

I've just tried it with three different browsers, Opera 3.6, Netscape 4.7,
and Internet Explorer 5, and all I get is: "The future home of ccprc.com"
Anyone know what is going on... is it an AOL only site? :-)

cheers, Stephen stephen.bird_at_superaje.com

PS I did try both the short and long forms, with the Festival reference,
and I did refresh the browser window.

There is no cost mentioned, only that county residents pay less. How cute. Do
we get to choose how much we pay?
