Paddling around Cannery Row and the Aquarium is great. Next
time I'll portage on down to Point Lobos just south of
Carmel and paddle there. If you don't do that, at least
drive down and hike it. One of the beautifulest places in
the universe. I was there on a Saturday in good weather and
saw no kayaks. How can you folk resist?

Can't help with the accommodations but those from San Francisco don't call it
'frisco <G>. Have fun and I hope you get answers to the list. I may be out
that way some time soon, too.

Be aware that at Point Lobos you have to make a reservation to put in there. It's not bad on weekdays and you might even be able to drop in and get into the water but they limit the number of boats, so don't count on it.

The park has a website and you can make reservations there. <http://pt-lobos.parks.state.ca.us/>

It is, indeed, one of the most beautiful areas of our coast and diving there is out of sight! It is very strictly protected so things are pretty much in a pristine state.
