I have a wooden kayak that I've been storing in my living room for the winter. I was cleaning and, alas, a heavy iron picture frame fell off the mantel and gouged the deck! So I now have a puncture wound and am wondering the best way to fix it. The deck is 3 or 4 ply plywood with about 3 coats of epoxy and 5 coats of varnish. And the hole is about 1 inch long and 1/2 inch wide. The corner of the frame did go all the way through but most of the wood is still hanging on a bit. (It's quite hard to describe this sort of thing!)
