I am going to tease Joan a bit here. She doesn't mention when the
Atlantic Kayak Tours symposium is being held and where. I have a vague
recall that it is in July and somewhere in New York State. :-)

BTW, just an indirect lesson here for any of you who do a club
newsletter or send out multipage business letters. I often run across
club newsletters in which if one were to photocopy a page to send to a
friend, there is no way of knowing from where it was lifted. The
publications lack what is termed a running foot, i.e. text at the bottom
(or top) margin that says the publication and date. If the club is
doing a good enough job to have people send each other pages from it,
then it's in the interest of the club, in terms of increasing membership
etc., to be identified as the source. In business letters, having a
running header avoids the dreaded lost 2nd or 3rd page disaster.

That's why it was smart when Jackie began to include info about how to
subscribe to PaddleWise in the SIG that automatically appears at the
bottom of any listserve generated Paddlewise email. Quite a few
listservers fail to do that and lose potential signer-ons.
